If your study takes place in multiple countries, you might have a need for your forms and your process(es) to be in several languages. If a form should be presentable in several languages the translation module must be used and to use it you must enable it in the study builder. You can get access to the study builder when creating the study, or by clicking on "Edit Study" in the study overview.

After enabling the translation module, you can find it by using the left side menu. Click on your study name followed by 'Translations'.

Before you start translating to secondary languages, ensure you have set up the study fully in the primary language, as every time something new is added in the main language it has to be translated.

If a form is not translated to the secondary language, it can result in the form being shown in the primary language or appearing empty all together.

In the Translation menu you can see all the secondary languages of the study and the translation progress of each:

The "Total" number denotes how many different elements that are to be translated, an element is everything from possibility text to question text to information text.

Present possibilities such as Yes/No and the Smiley question type are automatically translated.

Here you choose the form you are translating under "Form"

Next, each element is translated. Once finished with the form, the next form is selected from the drop-down under "Form"

To translate a process, click on the process icon

When translating the process you first have to choose which process to translate - in studies with only one process it is pre-selected.

Otherwise, this is chosen under "Selected Pathway to Translate"

Next, you can choose a data event in the said process to translate.


Translations for Public signup:

A secondary language does not have to be 100% translated to be available in the public fill-out part of Greenlight Guru Clinical. Instead, the default public sign-up and fill-out pages will show the primary language if translations for the selected language are not available.

BUT any potential primary language MUST have 100% translation: This means if your study was created in English, but you wish to swap primary to German, the German must have 100% translation before this is allowed.

Public sign-up processes have language-specific links, such that each language the study supports has its own link. It is still possible to change the language when on the public sign-up page. For more information see Public Signup
